I had a PM from Butch, aka teacher today. He will be going into hospital in the near future for major surgery. I want to wish Butch well and I hope that his surgery goes well and he is back out and biking soon, and I know that any of the members reading this will join me. :waving:

Update January 4th 2007;

Thanks to ekurtike (Kurt) for the following info;

"Teacher is still in recovery right now, he's not in an assigned room as yet.  Go to this link:  https://www.sleh.com/sleh/SectionSecured/index.cfm?pagename=Send%20an%20eGreeting&PageMD=Families%20and%20Visitors

Fill in the form with teacher's name:  Harris "Butch" Brothers.  Under room name:  CVR2 Bed 26 and fill out your information.  Hopefully our e-mail's will get through to him.  Good luck.  On room number I entered CVR2-26 and hope it gets through."

Teacher, sorry to hear that you will be going into the hospital soon and hope that the surgery will be quick and painless. Also hoping that the recovery will be the same.

Now if you are going to have to eat hospital food while your there, then I REALLY feel sorry for you.

See if someone can sneak you some good food while your there. It makes the stay much more pleasant!

Terry

Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers. I think an explanation is in order. Most of the members at the Texas Fall Meet and Greet were aware of what was going on.

In March I went in to the family Doc for cold like symptoms. She order some Xrays and they showed water or liquid in one lung plus a shadow just below the heart. So She sent me to have a cat-scan. When that came back to her (the Doc) she told me to be in her office NOW! The shadow turned out to be an Aortic Aneurysm (a 6 on a scale of 1-8). So I went to see a Cardiovascular Surgeon. He wanted to operate but would like me to a Cardiologist to make sure my heart could take it.

So I went to see him and did some test where they discovered a blockage on or around my heart but would need to do a Heart Cath.  I got the Cath done and they installed a stent.

Now my Cardiologist has release me to have the original surgery for the Aortic Aneurysm. I see that Doc on Tuesday, the 28th to schedule the surgery. It will happen before Christmas and I will be in for 5-6 days then home for 6-8 weeks recovering.

Sorry to make it so long but I felt some need to know why I haven't post as much, now all know. Thanks for your support and prayers.

Hey :bowing:digger! It's not the hospital food that has me worried it is the not being able to smoke and the bed pans. I figure I won't be able to smoke for 5-6 days I might as well quite, right? But I can't do a thing about the bed pan!

Well, my friend, having discussed with you your pending stay at the hospital, you know that you are in our prayers.  Just make sure they don't switch charts on you and instead of fixing your problem, they do the wrong operation, like giving you a sex change or brain transplant or something.  And don't worry about the bedpan, unless it is brought in by a nurse called Bruce, and he has painted fingernails.  And then he wants to give you a sponge bath.:D
