Can anyone tell me where they were able to purchase the 5 mm brass fittings to synch the carbs. I have tried NAPA and piston ring and neither have them. Can i use a plastic fitting press in???

Here are a couple of links, I have seen them somewhere for a buck a piece but cant recall where right now.   Some people will get the proper size allen head bolts and drill a hole in them.

Thanks Big E!

I was hoping someone could answer that question. I tried drilling out some screws and had a half-a** result.

My Motion Pro brass nipples looked like they took some brass tubing and used a die to cut some threads on one end.  Simple approach.  You should be able to use just about any tubing the right diameter.  Tubing mics out to be just a hair under .2 inches

Not to bad mouth the motion pro set ( cause that is what I use!)  But do inspect them regularly.  I was chasing a carb issue last fall that was driving me crazy!!  Turns out the brass tube had a hairline crack in it that I was adjusting the carb for.  Bike ran like pure crapola.  I had removed and been through those carbs like 5 times before I found that crack!!!

The short nipples from Bike Bandit look like the ones I use. The price is better too.

Cut off pieces of 3 / 16 brake line. Thread with a #10 die. Screw a nut on the thread then slide an oring over the threads. It will screw right in the port and seal. 1 /4" line will push right on. Easy and cheap.

I got to figuring what it'd cost me to buy the die, handle, tubing, nuts, o-rings, and labor and I think this is a better deal for me.;)$10.00 including shipping.

I attempted to order from Bike Bandit and the only shipping option I got was by air at a cost of $25.00 for shipping. That makes them a little on the expensive side. I have e-mailed bike bandit asking why they can't be shipped buy land and have had no reply as yet. At $25.00 for shipping I'll have to look at one of the other options.

I don't blame you. That's completely out of line. You folks up there take it in shorts if you want to buy something south of the border. I personally think it's bovine food -by-products myself.

After I get mine and see what the quality is, maybe we could smuggle.......er....get some to you for less. I just shipped some brake lines I got off of EBay back to the company, as they didn't fit, for $6.40 US.

Not such a good deal from Bike Bandit. I must have misread the number of nipples in the $5.99 deal. For some reason I thought the price was for a set of four. I ordered a set and found out the price was for one. So I'll keep using my temporary adapters.

does anyone know what fittings come with this set of guages?

does anyone own this model.  I can not tell who is mfgr of it as it is not well described on ebay.

1981 standard gl1100.  even shop manual does not appear to show the size of the plug for sync attachment.

thanks

after reading the manual (vague) about synching the carbs for my 82 gl1100 aspencade, it left me with a few questions. carb three is called the "base". does that mean baseline, as in i need to use this one for reference? also, i see that there are three adjustor/locknut combos. do i need to balance the carbs individually, and then balance one side to the other? thanks

Yep, balance each side then you balance the two sides together. The adjustment screws located between the carbs are the ones that balance that pair together and the adjustment screw on the aft end of the #4 carb is the one that balances the two banks together. I normally match #2 and #4, then #1 and #3, then stick the vacuum gauge on the #3 and #4 to balance the two banks.
