Has anyone had experience with the Richland Roadster trike conversion kit? It seems very inexpensive for a four wheel type kit. It is pretty plain though. It uses tubes and angles and is a bit on the heavy side. I bought an old GL 1100 with only 34K on it and after taking it apart for polishing and some repainting. I am considering a trike conversion. This one starts under $3000. I have seen one, but haven't had a ride on one yet.

Just wondering if anyone has some knowledge about this conversion.

Thanks
Riding Richard

I dont have one and have not riden one either . I know where the office is and have seen a few around here locally . Most start out as a trailer . They turn the trailer rear to the front of bike . Cut out the floor to fit the bike in . I am not sure how he works the axle , though the center section is cut out .

Thanks on a wing and a prayer and Sabre Joe.

I'll be going up there next week. I'll take a few photos and post them if the conversion look OK.
I know this is an old post, but was wondering what you determined after your visit to Richland Roadster. Everything on their site makes their conversions look great. I'd like to buy one of their completed trikes and ship it across country to me in WA. Any thoughts? Thanks!

They say, "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." But I'm gonna violate that.

Looks heavy and ugly to me. If I was down to that, I'd buy a convertible automobile. I've seen lots of other Trike conversions that look much better.

CONCOMCAD , I was refering to the utility type which Wingnumberone posted . I had not seen this "Roadster"model around town ( I live about 12 miles from them) . I did try to find them on the WWW but kept getting no page found . This Roadster does look ok from the pictures . I'll keep an eye out for one to look over myself .

I emailed the manufacturer and apparently they use four swaybar mounts and the tires themselves as suspension.. Great for mirror roads, but not so great for any type of irregular pavement. As Bacall said to Bogart, "Hang on, it's going to be a bumpy ride."

This was his reply

Hello, You are right. My patent pending design has a totally diferent concept than my competition. We do not use the suspension of the motorcycle because it is not designed for sidecars or trike kits. We use automotive sway bar bushings that allow independent suspension of the kit from the motorcycle. Our kit weighs less than 200 lbs. and that weight is carried by the 15" polished Aluminum Rims and low profile tires of the kit. It works great. www.richlandroadster.com Steve 813-355-1305

Don't rule this out. I just bought one and adore it. As a new rider with less than 10 hours experience and a significant crash, I almost gave up my dream of riding.

The Richland Roadster gave me my freedom. It easily converted my 2010 Moto Guzzi California Vintage into an easy and enjoyable ride.

The business was very customer service friendly. They answered all my questions, as a girl they were a lot...lol.

Best part they matched the Roadster to my bike. The custom pinstripping is perfect......

They picked up and delivered on time. Great group to work with.

will post pics as soon as I can figure out how to compress. Tried but file size was too big.

Also have pics of some that were done by them. think a Goldwing or some other Type Hond will check on that too

will work on it tonight when I get home

Happy riding

Sasha, there are a lot of free programs to change the size of pictures. Google it and you will probably find one you like. If you can't get it done send me a PM and I will explain in more detail.

It is quite possible the origional poster was primarly concerned about cost. At one third the cost of most conversions, that's a really good looking conversion. For that kind of savings, a person could put up with a few more bumps and a few less bells and whistles.

Looks a lot like the Voyager(http://www.mtcvoyager.com/). If it is a s well built it will be a comfortable ride. I just love mine. But for the same price you can get a true trike kit with a 7.5" ford rear end. There is a couple of full posts on this site of this trike being built. http://www.triwing.com/index.htm If I had seen this when I bought the voyager, I would have it on Baby now. http://www.triwing.com/index.htm I decided not to delete thios post after I saw how old it is but instead this may be of interest to others.
